Night of the Jackal

Image
Saturday - With a meeting in the morning, we discussed out placement projects and other opportunities available here. Debbie and I then worked in the office until lunch. After lunch, Ronny, Debbie and I set off to Sanipalli Hill, with the goal of reaching the top of the hill even if we had to climb from the very base. We finally followed the entirety of the canal and found an entrance and made our way to the top of the hill, basking in the glory of the amazing view, majestic birds and colossal wind turbines. We were able to see all the water management projects that SEDS has completed all over the land and hill. On our way out of Sanipalli Hill, we saw some rabbits and a family of jackals. Small Points for Big Futures

Friday - Starting off the day, we assisted the children and teachers at the SEDS school in revising for their English Exam. When it came time to take the English exam, they were a teacher short, so I ended up having to oversee the exam by myself, which was an interesting experience of feeling confused and unsure of if what I was doing was correct. After the English exam, I went downstairs to help the children revise their maths. Although when I inititally went down, I was bombared with children jumping on me. At first I was lifting my arms while they would hold on, but after having every inch of my arm being held onto, my ability to lift my arms became quite difficult. Tailored for Education

Thursday - The morning started with Mani informing me that we would not be going to the field today. As the school had exams, this meant it was a day in the office for Debbie and I. However, things were not without interest in the office, as many squirrels, monkeys, birds and snakes roamed past - with the rat snake even trying to enter a few times. In the morning we also chatted to Ish, KK and Chewie for a while before they began their journey back home to Bangalore. After lunch, Debbie informed me that the SEDS school children were being fitted with their independence day uniforms, so I went up and saw them handing out the uniforms and had a little chat with some of the children. Just a Test

Wednesday - After a short breakfast, Debbie and I went to the school to begin our day helping educate the class. Only to find out that the school has exams on, and today, they will be revising for their Telegu exam, then beginning revision for their Hindi exam tomorrow. Debbie and I observed the children revising for a while before returning to the office to see if there was anything else we could do. I ended up joining Rajen, Ronny and Ish, with Chewie driving, to visit sanipalli hill again, where we went to a different area than the wasteland management. We climbed some old steps SEDS had previously made to a lookout over the wasteland management area and the majority of sanipalli hill. It was very beautiful. On our way back down to the car, I found a camel spider crossing the path. It wasnt as big as the ones I've seen on the internet, but it was still very interesting. We then went into Penukonda and picked up some supplies, before returning home. After taking care of some...
