New Kids on the Block
Tuesday -
We went into the field again today, looking at bio-gas units. I'm slowly starting to understand the process better and was able to be of a more autonomous help today. We also observed and gained new understanding of the bio-gas maintenance, as some of the gate-wells (handles and connections) to the bio-gas tank become corroded. Shammy was also able to show and explain to me how some of the cookers are filled with corroded iron due to sometimes bits of water and mud making its way into the hosing. This not only leads to blockages in the pipes, but causes the corrosion in the cooker, resulting in corroded iron needed to be removed.
I'm also constantly impressed by Shammy's driving knowledge, as he is very knowledgeable about all of the roads, and never gets lost while navigating to and from various villages. He also, from what I can see, never uses GPS.
Returning home, we met KK, Chewie and Ishat (Ish for short). They are friends of Rajen and Manil and will be staying the next few nights.
Chewie, an avid bird watcher, had his birthday today. So we all celebrated a little bit.
Ishat, a jewlerly maker.
KK, an avid white water rafter.
