Waking up, it was a fairly relaxed day. Sunday are our days off.
Debbie and I did some washing and reading in the morning.
Penukonda Hill
We ended up going into the Penukonda markets, a fruit and veg market where people from all over come to buy their needs. There were of course, some other nick-nacks being sold as well, such as the popular colours for various festivals.

Sunday - Waking up, my eyes have been quite irritated and feeling puffy in the morning. I hope it subsides. After breakfast, Ronnie took Debbie and I straight up to Penukonda Hill. Getting through Penukonda was more of a hike than the actual Penukonda hill! There was a political rally in Penukonda on top of the usual Sunday market mayhem. Once we got through Penukonda itself, we travelled some roads having construction on them to near the top of the Penukonda hill, until we could not pass any further past all the construction vehicles. We found a bend in the road where we could park, then continued via foot, determined to meet the top. Arriving at the top of Penukonda Hill, we were greeted by beautiful birds and the remains of the fort which rest across the hill. Psychedelic Experiences in Hindupur

Tuesday -  Okay, so no substances were taken today, but what a surreal experience the day was. Setting off to Hindupur today for a cultural and organisation experience day, we picked up Mani, Radha, Govindamma and Ratnamma. Our first stop in Hindupur was an old age home, meeting some very friendly and lovely people. Mani, Radha, Govindamma and Ratnamma were surprised to find that they knew one of the women in the old age home. The old age home is staffed every day of the year, including holidays, with the funding being 75% and 25% privately. Old age residency's are a very important thing in India, as apparently some of the elderly are not treated well, with many facing homelessness as they are seen to no longer contribute to the household or family and consequently kicked out from their home, or only receiving leftovers of food (if there are any leftovers). Tuesday - I made jackfruit pancakes with a little banana in the mix too. Although the batter  cooked through with a softer middle, it was still delicious. I think with some lime or honey/maple syrup it might be even more delicious. Jack-Cakes Mix The Start of a Long Road of Trying New Things Augustine arrived and we discussed India again, focusing on NGO's and more of India's past. Then Augustine and I went for a walk to the local fruit store to purchase some fruit, including jack fruit, guava and coconuts. While coconuts is nothing too out of the normal for Australia, when Augustine cracked open the coconut, he did with such might that it exploded everywhere, including all over him.
